Reframing the Archive with Color
Overview
This project remixes cultural memory with bold colors, typography, and contrasts, using open-access collections like NASA, LOC, and the National Archives to celebrate the absurd, beautiful, and haunting.
It explores humanity’s pursuit of meaning—through science, nature, storytelling, and innovation—connecting personal experiences to universal truths.
Visual Language
Color Palette: Vibrant duotones and split-tone overlays create emotional intensity and visual contrast, making the old feel new.
Typography: Clean, sans-serif typography serves as cultural "signposts," drawing attention to both the historical and contemporary.
Depth & Format: Pairing functions like conversations—between science and humanity, labor and leisure, beauty and absurdity.
