You Will Eat It and You Will Like It

You Will Eat It and You Will Like It started when I became more interested in cooking for myself and wanted to preserve some of the recipes I grew up with. I began collecting favorites from my mom and gradually added other recipes that interested me, returning to the book over the years as the collection and its design evolved.

The cookbook became a place for me to combine two things I love: food and making books. Its bright colors, oversized imagery, repeating patterns, and illustrations developed over time as I added new recipes and revisited old ones. A small motif based on the wallpaper outside my bedroom in the house where I grew up appears throughout the book, changing color from spread to spread.

The title comes from a suggestion my dad often made at the dinner table: “You will eat it, and you will like it!”
